Ø       Complete the entire Entry Contract & Addendum  The Entry Contract & Addendum must also be notarized and signed (most banks will do this for you for free).   You can also submit the Preliminary Application to reserve a spot in the competition.  Please determine your platform and craft a statement and include as part of your entry package.

Ø       Provide copies of the documentation listed in the entry contract (ex: driver’s license, birth certificate, transcript copy, etc.)

Ø       Production Highlights - You will participate in a professional, quality production that incorporates audio/visual elements on a projection screen on-stage during the pageant.   BEING ON TIME & IN ATTENDANCE TO REHEARSAL ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH, IS MANDATORY AS WE WILL BE TAPING KEY INTRODUCTIONS TO BE SHOWN DURING COMPETITION THE NEXT NIGHT. Click here for more important information about the production.  PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION.

Ø       Sponsors are the main support of our pageant.  Admissions, unfortunately, pay only a very small part of our expenses to produce a Miss Virginia Preliminary.   WHILE NOT A REQUIREMENT, we ask that each contestant attempt to obtain contributions in the amount of $150.00. Checks should be made payable to The Miss Hampton Roads Scholarship Pageant. Sponsors will be listed in the program book, and will be announced by the Master of Ceremonies at the pageant. Program ads are also a great support to the pageant. Ads may be obtained in lieu of or in addition to other contributions. You may make as many copies of the sponsorship and ad contract forms as needed.

Ø      Children’s Miracle Network Service Requirement - Service, one of the four points of the crown, has always been important to contestants striving for the opportunity to be Miss America.  To build on this, every contestant competing in the “Miss” level age division MUST raise a minimum of $100 to support Children’s Miracle Network.  In addition EVERY contestant MUST register online for this collection at http://www.missamerica4kids.org (instructions on how to register are provided at this site).  Even if you intend on submitting a check for this $100 donation you MUST still register online for the Miss Hampton Roads Pageant.  *NOTE:  You MUST raise $100 for EVERY Miss VA preliminary pageant you compete in this year.  More information about the CMN requirement is attached.  This is not an entrance fee, but rather a new service requirement to participate in Miss America sponsored pageants.

Ø       Submitting electronic copies of photos that will be used in the program book is mandatory as these headshots will also be a visual element during the production.  Please send via  e-mail to helen@misshamptonroads.org  if you have rights to distribute the photo electronically.  Please no computer scanned photos as they do NOT reproduce well.  If you are unable to send an electronic version please send (2) pictures no larger than 3 x 5 that will not be returned.  If you must submit hard copies in lieu of electronic please call Helen Frankos at 757-646-5000 to discuss.  Electronic images will be used as part of the production.

Ø       Submit Talent Selection & CD As soon as you have made a decision on the particular music associated with your talent, call and register it with us. NO TWO CONTESTANTS will be allowed to use the same music in any age division. THE FIRST CONTESTANT to register a preference for a particular song gets her choice.
