Teen, Preteen, Little & Mini Miss
Areas of Competition
PRIVATE INTERVIEW: Teen contestants will have an 6-minute interview and Preteens will have a 4-minute interview with the panel of judges. Little Miss and Mini Miss contestants will not participate in the private interview. Attire may be a dress or business suit. Interview will be based on the fact sheet submitted by each contestant as well as current events/relevant topics.
LIFESTYLE & FITNESS: No swimsuit in the Teen, Preteen, Little & Mini Miss divisions. A t-shirt will be provided and must be worn with a white or black pair of shorts or a skirt/skort. T-Shirts will be distributed at orientation; if you are unable to attend orientation please make your t-shirt size requirements known to ensure your size is available for you to pick up at rehearsal. Wardrobe for this area of the competition will require Executive Director approval. Please bring clothing to either orientation or rehearsal. It is at the sole discretion of the Executive Director to determine that the shorts or skirt selected is appropriate. The goal is to determine physical fitness and confidence. Plain white tennis shoes (Keds or similar) and white anklet socks please.
TALENT: Talent will be a maximum of 1:30 minutes. Any talent presentation under 90 seconds is acceptable, i.e., vocal, piano, violin, dance, monologue, etc. Talents will be timed and points will be deducted if the contestant exceeds the time limit. As soon as you have made a decision on the particular music associated with your talent, call and register it with us. NO TWO CONTESTANTS will be allowed to use the same music in any one age division. THE FIRST CONTESTANT to register a preference for a particular song gets her choice. No one else in your age division will be allowed to use that selection. CD’s only; no cassette tapes will be accepted.
GOWN: Dresses may be long or short but more importantly the dress should be age appropriate. The goal is to determine the contestant’s sense of confidence, personality, stage presence and grace. No glitz/pro-am please.
ON-STAGE QUESTION: Two on-stage questions will be given. The questions will be prepared in advance and taken from the contestant's fact sheet.
PARADE OF CONTESTANTS: At the beginning of the pageant program there will be a parade of contestants in which each contestant will introduce themselves (Greeting, my name is ___________). Teen, Preteen, Little & Mini Miss contestants need to wear a solid color jewel-toned (NO RED PLEASE) cocktail or other dress (not floor length). Jewel-toned examples: sapphire blue, emerald green, royal purple, gold, silver, etc.; NO black, white, red or pastels. While this component is not judged, it is the opening act and a highly important first impression of each contestant on stage.OPTIONAL CATEGORIES: Entirely for fun!! If you decide not to participate in any of the optional categories it will in no way negatively impact your scoring for the core competition as these are judged by an entirely separate group of judges. The optional categories are:

8x10 in size on rehearsal night. Please place portrait inside plastic cover all of
