This weekend is going to be big for me.  I am giving up my title as Virginia Cinderella State Tot.  I'm probably going to cry because this was my first big title won.  Also, I always cry during pageants.  But I get to spend one last weekend with my Cinderella sisters, Allison Exner, Kathleen Lee, and Samantha Demey.

I look forward to spending time this weekend with Prentiss Marquis.  We always find silly things to do like playing tricks on people and dancing and singing.  I also hope to spend some time with Sydney C.  Whenever we are together it seems like one of us is competing and we don't have much time to hang out.

Another exciting thing I get to do is try out a new talent.  I will be performing a monologue about a kid who hates piano lessons.  I just hope I don't forget the words.

This week I didn't get a chance to deliver any books.  It is a lot of fun getting to meet new people  who admire me for the work I'm doing in the community.

Well I have to go practice my monologue.  Chat with you later!

Boy oh boy was this weekend exciting! Everything was rush, rush, rush at the Cinderella State Pageant. I had such a good time with all of my pageant friends.

We had a Pajama Party on Friday night where I got to dance till 10:00 at night. I even got to lead the party in the dance Soldier Boy!

Saturday was even more exciting for me and my mommy. But not in a good way. We found a stranger in our hotel room stealing our stuff. I was so scared. Anyway, after it was all over my mommy and I said a prayer to thank God for his many blessings. So many of my pageant friends gave me hugs when I went back into the ballroom. Thank you to Hopey's mom for taking care of me when my mom left the room.

When Sunday came it was time to give up my title. Just as I thought, I cried. When I cried my mommy said I broke the dam because all of my sisters, except Kathleen started to cry too. I hated give up my title, but my mommy said I could compete again if I wanted to.

Now I have to concentrate on getting as many A's as I can in just 4 weeks. My mom says I can get all A's. She usually knows what I can do. But not all the time.

Until next time - RJ signing out

This last weekend was a lot of fun too. I got to see my oldest brother Devin in a musical. By the time it was over I knew most of the words to the songs. I got to watch it with one of my best friends, Rheina. Kathleen Lee is home from college and was also there to see her brother. Rheina and I are hoping for some more sleep over's this summer at her house. Party! party! party!

As you all know I am Catholic. This weekend is my First Communion. My Godmother and my cousins are coming to town just to see me. On Sunday my cousins will attend the Spring Festival with me. They get to help me pass out cotton candy and other refreshments. You know what that means.............one for you, one for me.

Only 3 1/2 weeks left of school. I got my midterms on Friday. I am working really hard to bring my B+'s up to A's. My mom says "IT CAN BE DONE". It will happen no matter how many dark circles I have under my eyes. Second grade is the HARDEST GRADE in my whole life. Sometimes I think school is overrated. Who ever wrote the list of priorities that my mom keeps talking about, has it all wrong. It should read: playing, eating, video games, and then maybe school work. Don't you agree?

My First Communion was so fun and scary. The whole time I was walking down the aisle I was afraid I would start laughing because everybody was starring at me. I was also afraid I was going to make a face when I drank the wine because it didn't taste so good. Mrs. Catoire, my teacher, said we all had to take the wine for First Communion. Never, never again. I don't double dip and I don't drink after people. Imagine how I felt having to share a glass with the ENTIRE church. Yuck!!!! My brothers just watched and laughed. The bread wasn't so tasty either. Me and my friends Mallory, Nicole, and Emily took lots of pictures and compared dresses before mass began. After mass my family went to my favorite restaurant , Ruby Tuesday's where I ate Mac and Cheese. The absolute best in the world!

The Norfolk Public Library's Spring Festival was awesome! I met a miniature horse named Blue Boy. I also got a tour of this really cool bus set up like a library. Can you believe this bus goes all over town so that people who can't get to the library can still read books. How cool is that! I got my face painted, a tattoo on my arm , danced hip hop with Clifford the red dog, and played with glitter and glue making crafts. I mean , showed the kids how to make crafts. That was my job for the day, working the craft table. After a couple of hours, Dominick and Prentiss showed up. We didn't do much walking around because Dominick hurt her leg. So we spent the rest of the afternoon signing autographs for lots of children. What a day. When my mother told me I was asked to do some work for the public library, I thought "boring". NOT. The more time I spend around books, the more adventures I go on. Which reminds me, I have two chapters left in my Beverly Cleary book.

Be sure to check out my photo gallery. You might get to see some picture of my wonderful weekend. Until next time, happy reading.

This last week I found out that I won a store-level scholarship from Kohls. I was selected out of a pool of thousands of entries based on my community service. Now I am eligible for the regional scholarship. I hope I win because it is a lot of money.

On Saturday I spent the day with Dominick and Prentiss. We were in the Af'ram Parade and got to ride on a Corvette. The owner of the Corvette was in the Hampton Corvette Club and his license plate said "zero260". My mom said that means his car can go real fast. My cousin Renee, is in charge of this huge band that marched in the parade. They had drums, horns, and even dancing girls. A few of my cousins were in the parade too. I was also surprised to see my Nana and my aunts by the judges table.

Later on that night I went to the Preteen/Teen Miss Chesapeake Pageant. I went there to cheer for my very, very, very good friend Allison Exner. She won talent, photogenic, and the title of Teen Chesapeake. Hip hip hooray!!!!! Also, while I was sitting in my chair watching the pageant, Mrs. Sykes called me up to pick the wining raffle ticket. I got to speak on the microphone in the huge auditorium.

Boy have I been busy!  I'm sorry I forgot about you but so much has been going on in my life.  I managed to bring my grades up just like my mom knew I would.  The last week of school all we did was PARTY, PARTY, PARTY!!!!!   Every year my family has a grades contest to see who can get the best grades.  This year my brother Devin barely beat my brother Cameron so he gets to pick where we go for our family vacation.  I'm hoping third grade will be easier than second so I can pick next year.  Disney World here we come!  Again.

Since I last wrote I have been involved in some major events.  Oh my gosh, Relay for Life was so much fun!  All of my pageant friends were there.  There were also some sad times during the evening.  One of my friends got really upset when we had to light the candles.  It made me upset just watching her.  So as usual, my mommy and I said a short prayer on behalf of her family and her very missed grandfather.  By the end of that weekend I had attended the Miss Suffolk Pageant and  a huge fundraiser put on by Linda Haas's dance studio in Newport News.  There I got to spend time with Hillary.  She is so beautiful and one day I am convinced I will be able to sing just as good as her.  That's another thing me and my mom don't agree on.

Anyway, the Miss Virginia Recital was also fun.  I met some new titleholders and I got to take a picture with Miss Virginia Preteen 2006, Emily Hasty.  Mrs. Buckley even let me pick the winning raffle ticket out of the box.  Afterwards the gang and I had dinner with Hannah.  She is so much fun!  She always has time for me.

This last weekend was full too.  My cousin graduated from high school.  Can you believe there was a kid there that got an award for not missing a day of school since KINDERGARTEN?  What happened to his family vacations during the school year when the rates are low and it's less crowded?  Once again, another case of priorities out of order.   That would never happen to me!  Nobody ever taught that kid how to fake sick?  The next day my aunt retired from the military.  She was in a long, long, time.  I guess that explains why the ceremony was long, long, long.   Cassie was a special guest at the retirement.  My aunt asked her to sing the National Anthem.  Everybody kept going up to her telling her how good she sounded.  And all my mom wanted to do is take pictures of Cassie with her crown on.  I still don't understand why I couldn't wear mine.......  something about today not being my day.   Right then I felt like breaking out in my Hard Knock Life routine.   Somebody would have taken a picture of me then.

The CHKD run walk was fun too.  I had my best buds with me again.  All except Dominick.  She had a dance recital.  We stood on the side and cheered the kids on as they started and finished the race.  Also when they finished we placed medals around their necks and took pictures on stage.   We finished the weekend spending the day with dad.  We first went to lunch, then miniature golf, and finished with a movie.

I don't think this week will be quite so busy.  My plans are to swim everyday and go to a sleepover with my girlfriend Mallory.  Check with you next week.  No matter how busy I get I will always have time for you.
