This morning I had the wonderful opportunity to meet the President of JMU, Dr. Linwood Rose. I was so star-struck that I forgot to tell him how much I loved his name. I mean isn't that an awesome name- Linwood Rose? He was VERY nice, and gave me some words of advice and encouragement. At the end of our meeting he put the Miss VA date into his palm pilot, and said he would be sure to be in front of the TV that night. I hope to make him proud!

May 3-6: Road trip with fellow Miss VA contestant Chinah Helmandollar!! We had so much fun singing "Chicago" and "Backstreet Boys" the whole way to NC- I love her!

I just received a hand-written note from Dr. Rose! That's right, the President of a school of 17,918 took the time to personally write me a note! Now I understand the feeling that people probably get when Miss Virginia notices/spends time with them. This has made me even more excited about the difference I can make in people's lives if selected as Miss VA 2008. I also went to Dr. Folck, who was wonderful enough to donate me teeth whitening trays worth $400! They were so nice, I have decided to make them my full-time dentist :-)!

Today I went to Mrs. Jeffries' classroom at Butts Road Primary. She was my Ed. Intern teacher senior year. The kids were very appreciative, and smart!

I went to my Mom's school today. My hand hurts from giving out so many autographs! (good problem to have) I had a lot of fun singing on the morning announcements, shaking hands, reading books, and singing to the music class.

Today was the Court of Miss Hampton Roads pageant. I emceed and sang. I realized how much I love being on stage- not just singing, but speaking!

Entry 5/18/08
Today after church was an Alzheimer's luncheon. Patti from the Alzheimer's Association came to speak. I met a lady who is going to teach me to hula dance! The speaker was very informative, and I enjoyed helping to serve food and talking with the seniors there.
After the luncheon I relaxed and had fun at Helen Frankos' pool for a Miss HR pool party :-)

I have been working a lot! I am currently a hostess at Sterling's Restaurant in Greenbrier. Today it was nice to have a day off and relax at the beach. The water felt great!
